Sorry I have not updated since we were chosen!  We got our baby boy and his name is Micah.  He is now 4 months old.  We got his name from a verse quoted in Church the Sunday before we were asked to put our book in or chosen. 

We Were Chosen!!!

It has been a whirlwind of a week!  We ended the auction on Tuesday with a bang.  The auction pulled in $3,000 and we also found out we were chosen for a 1 1/2 week old baby boy. 

First off, I would like to thank Jill for hosting the auction, Christy and Syd for helping Jill and I get it together and Christy for invoicing.  And a HUGE thanks to everyone who donated and who bought! 

Now, about the baby.  We received a call about putting our book in for him on Monday evening and within 24 hours we were chosen.  We were told we would sign on Thursday or the weekend.  Instead of invoicing and ordering shirts like I was supposed to on Wednesday, I was getting baby bottles, formula, washing clothes and getting the room completely ready.  So thanks again Christy for taking up my slack on Wednesday and Jill for helping keep up with who and paid and items that can be mailed off.  We found out late yesterday evening that we will be meeting the birth parents, signing and getting the baby on Sunday at 10am.  PLEASE keep us and them in your prayers.  Sunday is going to be a very emotional day for all of us and there is still that slight chance that they can back out.  Once we are home and I have a second, I will post a family picture.

We Were Not Chosen

I was just notified that "Nicole" narrowed her choices down to eight families and that those families have been notified.  We were not notified so we will move to the next path that God has.  I have put our name on several lists and have been in contact with different places.  We will receive our baby!  Thanks for the continued prayers and support!  If anyone hears of a lead please feel free to contact us.

Update Just In...

Here is an update I received today:

Due to administrative issues within the prison that “Nicole” is located, there has been a delay in her receipt of the information to review the applications.  Steps have been taken to resolve this matter and it is hoped that the issue will be resolved this week with a possible update early next week.

I apologize for the anxiety this is causing but this is an aspect that was not predicted and somewhat out of my control.   I believe the issue has been resolved and will confirm on Tuesday, if possible.

No News Yet

Just wanted to let everyone know that we have not heard anything on the baby in FL for more than a week now.  I did contact the attorney to see if there were updates but his response was "not yet".  Short and to the point.  So we are continuing to pray and believe.  I will post as I know more.

Updates

The first baby girl that we put our book in for has been born and the state did step in due to the mom being on drugs.  Please pray for this family and the best interest of the baby so that she is taken care of like she should be and deserves.

I received an update yesterday from the attorney on the 6 month old.  Both parents did tell the judge in court on Tuesday that they are going through with private adoption.  That is great!  Now we are just waiting to see who the chosen parents are.
